John 14:27–Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.
When life is busy, especially this time of year when it looks like midnight by 6pm and the cold nights compel me to hibernate, it’s easy for me to lose sight of peace . . . If I’m honest, I’m battling the dark days. Still, the fact that I remember this personal promise of peace from Jesus (not an intangible force but a gift as from a dear friend), the fact that I find in my heart this desire for more Divine power, a sense that there’s even more peace for me to embrace . . . this encourages me to keep pursuing, prying open the rusty places of my spirit a little more each day.
Driving through the leaf-littered streets,
Autumn chills the morning,
Tossed by the breeze–
Through gold, glowing trees.
